How Wesley UMC came to be, what we are now, and what we want to be

Wesley Church began it's ministry  in Lincoln in the1960's. Three churches (First Methodist, Thomson Methodist, and St. John's E.U.B. from Pawtucket) discerned God's guidance as they joined together and moved to our present location. In the 1970's, Berkley Methodist Church also joined us.  Wesley Church serves persons living in both Rhode Island and Massachusetts

Wesley is a church that is growing! It has a strong Sunday School, an excellent music program,  and a relevant, uplifting worship Service. We believe that children are sacred gifts to us and thus we have numerous programs for families.  Through our ministry we strive to reach out beyond the walls of our church to server God's people in a variety of ways.  We believe that when we unite as the church, we lock arms, hearts, and minds and understand more deeply that we are a people with a mission, a purpose and a task on earth that is greater than ourselves.  God has created us and called us to create a society of peace, love, and wholeness.

Through our shared ministry we also strive to reach out to the community by hosting a variety of community based organizations.  Messages of personal discipline and responsibility are upheld by our personal lives and our teaching.  We strive to be open and tolerant to those who are different from us, recognizing that it is God who has created the wonderful diversity that we find in our world.

We invite those who are looking for a church home to visit us at Wesley and we pray that through our ministry many will find the church home they are seeking.
