*This challenge began on June 19th, but we were just made aware of it today. It’s not too late to start!!*
Christians are called to be in a community of prayer and action while balancing acts of piety and mercy. Across the world, our community is disrupted by racial, ethnic and tribal injustices. God has called us, as United Methodists, to work toward liberation for all God’s people. Join the General Commission on Religion and Race in this six-week challenge with daily prayer.
Prayers can be found at General Commission on Religion and Race | Facebook or GCORR - Religion & Race - UMC (@gcorrumc) • Instagram. You can share the prayer on your social media and ask your friends to pray too!
Each week there is a featured theme and scripture you can hear about or read on your own:
June 19 - 25 | Lamentation: Psalm 13
June 26 - July 2 | Repentance: Isaiah 1:16-17
July 3 - 9 | Healing: Isaiah 58:12
July 10 - 16 | Reconciliation: 2 Corinthians 5:16-21
July 17 - 23 | Hope: Job 14:7-9
July 24 - 30 | Liberation: Luke 4:18-19
